About me

Commander James Feldkamp, USN Ret. He was a U.S. Naval Flight Officer, Counter-Measures Officer (ECMO), and Navigator for the EA-6B — a carrier-based electronic attack aircraft for the U.S. Navy. In 1991, he flew from the USS Midway during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Became a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Norfolk, Virginia after joining the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a founding member of the Joint Counter Terrorism Task Force and was one of three pilots in the Norfolk office that performed aerial surveillance of criminal and terrorist suspects. In 2004, he resigned from the FBI in order to run as the Republican candidate for Oregon's 4th Congressional District in the 2004 and 2006 election cycles.

In 2007, he was recalled to active Navy reserve duty to help establish the precursor office of NMIO. He was responsible for coordinating the sharing of non-classified information among U.S. federal government agencies, foreign governments, and the global maritime shipping industry in order to increase maritime security and maritime domain awareness.

Previously, he taught undergraduate courses in domestic and international terrorism as an adjunct professor at George Mason University and George Washington University. In addition, he has authored/edited a university textbook titled "Theory and Politics of Terrorism" for Cognella Academic Publishing.
